Menu: January 30th--

Eggs Benedict with Country Ham and Sauteed Asparagus

Homemade Hashbrowns w/ carmelized onions

Fresh Fruit

Sorry we havent posted in a while. We have been very busy but I have alot of pictures for you to help show what we have been up to!!

We have made everything from homemade pasta from scratch to an amazing caramel cake that Martha Foose refers to as her "Commitment Cake"....and yes, it was a good as I imagined it would be.

For our guests this morning we tried something new....we were pretty nervous because everyone says eggs benedict is super difficult but it turned out wonderful and the morning ended with three empty plates licked clean!!! They loved it :) We poached our own eggs (no microwave poacher in sight) and made our own hollandaise from scratch (we don't believe in sauces that come in packaged powder form-- NO WAY!!)

The cookies picutes are the most amazing cookies I have ever had!! They are homemade white chocolate cocoa cookies. SO YUMMY! I love the real cocoa that goes in them....much better than slice and bake for sure :) Our guests loved them so we made an extra batch to send home with them!
And p.s-- how adorable is our new cutting board?! Cutest rooster ever.....Williams-Sonoma is always the best!

SNOW DAY!!!!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Snow has made its way to Oxford. The weather channel said we were going to get 6-8 inches, it looks more like 10-12!!!!! I can not wait to go sledding later :)

Now that the holiday season is basically over :( you have no excuse not to plan ahead and book your weekend stay at The Z for Football 2011. Rooms are going fast!! At least half the weekends are already completely full....so HURRY!!!

Seeing that I am from Houston and do not see snow like this that much in Texas....we are planning to spend ALL day outside!!! We have a guest staying from Virginia so she is not near as amused as my sisters and I are but I am hoping she will join us for some good old fashion trashcan lid sledding later!!

We are clearly not going to drive anywhere today but we did plan ahead and decided to make homemade, Parisian style crepes this morning! The Z got a Williams-Sonoma crepe pan for Christmas and I have not gotten the opportunity to use it yet!! When we traveled to Paris a few Christmases ago we loved started the day with a nutella/banana crepe!! Let's just say the pressure is on......I am going to have to practice a few times before mine can live up to the ones from France. Mmmmmmm..........

Check back later for snow day pictures and yummy breakfast pictures!!! They are guaranteed to make your mouth water................. xoxox, Annie.
